Testing Products From Women-Owned Small Businesses

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today, I'm super excited to share something special with you all. Since it's Women's History Month, I thought it would be the perfect time to celebrate by supporting and testing products from small women-owned businesses. We've got an array of goodies lined up, including makeup, candles, and nail polish, so let's dive right in!

Feather and Fin Candles

First up, we're exploring Feather and Fin Candles, a brand many of you recommended. Founded four years ago by two incredible moms, Catherine and Jacine, Feather and Fin has a strong commitment to non-toxic products. This resonates deeply with me, especially after my pregnancy journey made me wary of toxins in everyday items.

Upon opening the package, which included a thoughtful thank you card and candle care tips, the fragrances greeted me even before I could see the candles themselves! We're testing two scents today:

  • Amber: A subtle blend of tonka bean, leather, sandalwood, musk, and jasmine. It's the kind of scent that feels like a fresh, clean home right after you've tidied up.
  • Vanilla Blossom: This one bursts with notes of green leaves, orange, sandalwood, heliotrope (new to me too!), and musk. It reminds me of an orange creamsicle but balances out with a warm vanilla undertone.

And a surprise third, Golden Hour, which somehow encapsulates the essence of sunsets with its orange, coconut, bergamot, amber, and vanilla notes. It's my pick to burn today as we continue exploring other products.

Neen Makeup

Next, we're trying out a makeup brand called Nen, suggested by one of you. Janine, the woman behind Nen, is also the creator of Stila and prioritizes sustainability with her products. I opted for a minimalist approach, purchasing just three items:

  • Glisten Up Lip Gloss: A cream lip gloss that's surprisingly light and not too sticky, with a subtle vanilla scent. It's becoming a fast favorite!
  • Pretty Shady Eyeshadow: Packaged in a reusable silicone compact (dishwasher safe, by the way!), this pressed pigment offers a beautiful neutral shimmer perfect for everyday wear.

Mooncat Nail Polish

Finally, we have Mooncat Nail Polish, discovered on TikTok and boasting a lineup of vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic lacquers. What's unique about Moonat is their magnetic polishes, allowing for stunning cat-eye effects without the gel hassle. We're testing several shades today, but I'm particularly enchanted by The Illusionist, which transforms before your eyes with a magnet!

Wrapping up, I am absolutely thrilled with these finds. Each product not only supports women entrepreneurs but also stands out in quality and innovation. If you're looking to try some new brands while making impactful choices, these women-owned businesses are definitely worth your attention.

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey today. I'd love to hear your thoughts or see if you have any recommendations for other women-owned brands to feature! Until next time, take care, and keep celebrating women's incredible contributions to our communities.
